As WhatsApp turned seven years of age this week, the informing administration has reported that it is dropping backing for BlackBerry and Nokia devices.
WhatsApp To Drop Support For BlackBerry, Older Nokia, Android devices
The company said in its blog entry that when the service was launched in 2009, the well-known stages driving around 70 percent of gadgets were by BlackBerry and Nokia, and mobile operating system offering by Google, Apple and Microsoft, which today represent 99.5 percent of offers, were under 25 percent around then.

The announcement was made not long after WhatsApp praised its celebrated its seventh anniversary, “As we look ahead to our next seven years, we need to center our endeavors on the mobile platforms most majority of people use,” it said. WhatsApp is closing down its support for these mobile as they no more ‘offer the sort of capacities we have to grow our application’s features in the future’, according to their blog post.

WhatsApp said that 70 percent of the gadgets in 2009 (when WhatsApp Messenger was propelled) had either a BlackBerry or Nokia OS yet the situation has totally changed at this point. “Mobile working platforms offered by Google, Apple and Microsoft – which represent 99.5 percent offers today – were on under 25 percent of mobile phones sold at the time,” it said.
