Biometric system for attendance in Allahabad University students
Allahabad University is is all set to register attendance of students through a biometric attendance machine. The first machine has been introduced at the university’s department of herbal science on an exploratory premise. The machine will register the participation of BSc-I student. The Vice-Chancellor initiated the biometric system at the office on Sunday.

Prof Anupam Dikshit, leader of the division, educated that the machine has been iinstalled in the BSc lecture hall . All the information of the First year students of BSc, including their thumb impression, register number, mobile number and so forth, have as of now been sustained in the machine. Presently, the machine will record the attendance of the students, both for theory and practical classes.

Besides, the department will also be installing CCTV so as to cross-check whether a student really attended the class or was it that he skipped the period after registering the thumb on the machine, he added.

It is trusted that the progression of introducing biometric attandence machine has been taken in the background of the way that in spite of the fact that the varsity rules stipulates 75% participation for the students.
