NEET Counselling, Seat Allotment Dates 2016

National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) is the screening test for candidates seeking for admission in National level medical colleges in India. Candidates who qualifies with good merit in NEET examination will only be considered for admissions in UG courses such as MBBS / BDS. This is the national level examination takes place every year that is being conducted by central board of secondary education (CBSE).  This examination in earlier years is known as All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT).

This year AIPMT / NEET examination has been organized at various examination centres across India.  The NEET Paper 1 has been conducted on 1^st May and Paper 2 is conducted on 24^th July in many examination centres of India. Huge hunber of candidates have competed to get the admission in MBBS / BDS courses. The CBSE has declared the NEET results and all the aspirants those have qualified in the examination are waiting for the counselling and seat allotment dates. There are 3,330 seats for MBBS in six government and 14 self-financed medicinal universities in the state. Under NEET, 15 percent seats are assigned in government schools, while 25  percent seats in self-financed universities distributed through NEET are under administration amount — this makes it 162 seats in government schools and 556 seats in self-financed universities. Registrations for guiding will occur between August 22 and 25 till 5 pm.

NEET Round 1, Round 2 Seat Allotment Dates 2016

• Round 1 of seat allotment will start on August 26 and the hopefuls can join school between August 29 and September 3.
• Allotments for Round 2 will start on September 11 and students can join school from September 13 to 23.
• The all-India Allotment situates that are empty after both rounds will go to state amount after 5 pm on September 20.
• School will start session for first year understudies from September 13.

Pranay Shah, part secretary of Admission Committee for Professional Medical Educational Courses (ACPMEC) said,”CBSE conducts the allotment of seats under all-India quota and it always takes place before allotment through Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET). We are awaiting the final judgment on Economically Backward Classes (EBC) quota. Allotment for those who have cleared GUJCET will begin after that and the new academic session will commence accordingly.” The results of both phases of NEET are likely to be announced on August 17.
