The AICTE Official has stated that the National Eligibility Test (NET) will be introduced from the next year 2019 – 20. Few of the opposing statements were heard towards the National Eligibility Test for admissions to Engineering courses, but the AICTE official has confirmed that the test will be carried out from next year.

AICTE Chairman told to reports that, the AICTE had confirmed conducting the NET examination from next year for admissions to all engineering colleges from this year. The official has also clarified that AICTE has also discussed with the State Governments regarding the NET examination. By qualifying this examination, toppers from each state will get admission into IITs.
Once the state government affirmed this choice the test would wind up operational, in any event by 2019-20. On future activities of AICTE, he said the council set to present students induction program, as a measure for confidence building for the students has a place with the rural background, poor and those having contemplated in the local language.
The Council would also start the staff acceptance program, through which preparing for four to six weeks of preparing would be given to recently recruited teachers before they were selected as full-time teachers. And the council was contemplating to change the way of question papers, he said. To a question on the proposed Higher Education Empowerment Regulation Agency (HEERA), the authorities stated, it was at a beginning state and included once the draft was prepared; it would be debated and discussed among all partners.
