The Telangana State is making steps towards the smart city. As part of this, the ‘Hy-Fi’ free wi-fi system was launched in the city of Hyderabad by the Telangana Government. The ‘Hy-Fi’ system covers the whole Hyderabad.
Telangana Launches Free Wi-Fi Named ‘Hy-Fi’ in Hyderabad
The Telangana Government has made the arrangements to supply free wi-fi to whole Hyderabad by arranging 3000 hotspots. The high-speed internet will be supplied for the citizens of Hyderabad. In first 30 minutes, the free wi-fi will be supplied for the users at 10MBPS speed. This special free wi-fi in Hyderabad will be accessible for free for all citizens, as well as tourists, visit the city. The IT Ministry has worked for 2 years to make Hyderabad as a Smart City. As the result of this Hyderabad, people can use the ‘Hy-fi’ services for free. The Telangana State Government is planning to increase the hotspots in the city to expand the ‘Hy-fi’ service to other cities of Telangana.
Launching the project Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Mayor, Bonthu Ram Mohan said, “GHMC has always taken lead in implementing new-technology. The Wi-Fi will not only be useful to the local citizens, but also large number of tourists who visit Hyderabad.”
Jayesh Ranjan, IT Secretary, said, “IT ministry has been working on this ambitious project for last two years. This is for the first time in the country that entire city will be covered with high-speed internet. It’s the biggest project with 3000 hotspots.”
