WhatsApp to obtain text status updates to Android next week
Whatsapp has recently updated the text status feature. But it faced some criticism from users. So, Whatsapp has again trying to bring back the text status updates to Android next week. TechCrunch has reported this news. The text status update will be first bringing back to android version and later it will be updated for IOS. The ‘About Status’ feature permits clients to set a text Status that other people can see either opening a contact entry or beginning a visit string. This element was expelled when Facebook reported that it would include its “stories” highlight to the Whatsapp.
In an announcement to TechCrunch, WhatsApp clarifies: “We heard from our users that people missed the ability to set a persistent text-only update in their profile, so we’ve integrated this feature into the ‘About’ section in profile settings. Now, the update will appear next to profile names anytime you view contacts, such as when creating a new chat or looking at Group info.
“At the same time, we’re continuing to build on the new Status feature that gives people fun and engaging ways to share photos, videos and GIFs with their friends and family throughout their day.”
Whatsapp is not disposing of the Snapchat Stories clone feature it presented a couple days back. Stories will keep on existing in the application. Like Instagram, WhatApp’s Snapchat Stories highlight empowers clients to post pictures and recordings that will vanish following 24 hours. Clearly, the element got not as much as positive reaction however, many blamed WhatsApp for duplicating Snapchat. Recently Facebook has added ‘Stories’ feature to its news feed. Also other social networking social media apps like Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp are holding the same feature.
