On International Women’s Day, Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha declared that the country will see its first team of female military pilots on June 18 this year.

“Starting now three women learners have volunteered to join the fighter stream. They are under the second period of their preparation. When they finish their preparation and are at standard with their male partners and the going out parade is planned on June 18th,” Raha said on International Women’s Day.

Declaring that all the three learners ought to get appointed on that day and turn into the First women officers in the contender stream, Raha said that thusly they will go to the propelled plane preparing, and later continue to the normal squads. “I should thank the defense minister for having affirmed IAF’s proposition to accept women as military pilots and soon on June 18 this year, Indian Air Force will get its first lady military pilot,” Raha said at a workshop on ladies in uniform in the Army Medical Corps here.
He attested that it was the AMC who initially given the chance to women to serve in the resistance after which, the conduits have opened for women to show their backbone.
