The official website of the Jawaharlal Nehru Central Library appeared to have been hacked yesterday(16-02-2015). A hacker group, ‘Black Dragon’, is believed to have defaced the website.

The hacking of the site comes in the midst of a row over an occasion at the varsity against the hanging of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru and in solidarity with “Struggle” of Kashmiri transients, at varsity’s Sabarmati Dhaba. The hacker group’s name has been connected with some ‘Pro India’ digital attacks.
The varsity’s library powers, said, “the hacking of the site was seen after office hours. The matter has been accounted for to the college’s IT office and measures are being taken to amend it”No official complaint has been made in such manner yet,” they included.

The slogan showed in the message were professedly yelled at the February 9 occasion at the varsity, regarding which its students union president Kanhaiya Kumar was arrested in a sedition case under IPC Sections 124A (sedition), 120B (criminal conspiracy) and 34 (acts done by several persons with a common intention)., activating across the board outrage among students and drawing criticism from non-BJP political parties.

The varsity’s Central Library site gives access to 72 online databases, library inventory, 20,000 electronic propositions and papers, 8 lakh computerized press clippings, 2,300 e-daily papers in 57 languages from 100 nations and more than 2 lakh e-books, and all e-diaries.
