The film follows in the strides of “The Big Short,” “The Wolf of Wall Street” and “99 Homes” by handling the fallout from monetary accidents, investigating a convoluted system that director Jodie Foster calls “rigged for the elite” in a meeting with Yahoo Movies.

“Money Monster” stars George Clooney as an overwhelming TV actor with a financial channel show who is taken prisoner on air by a man who considers him in charge of the loss of his life funds. Jack O’Connell plays the hands on laborer who loses everything in only nine minutes in the wake of taking after a stock tip that falls.
The film reunites Clooney with “Ocean’s” co-star Julia Roberts, who plays his producer, controlling him through real time hostage crisis from the control room. “Money Monster” hits theaters March 31.
