Facebook become the most largest American technology company on Wednesday to confront antitrust obstacles in Europe after the German rivalry authority opened an investigation into whether the comapny has manhandled its prevailing position in person to person communication.
The move puts Facebook, which is utilized by a number of Europe’s 500 million citizens, close by other United States technology companies, similar to Google and Microsoft, which have also confronted antitrust examinations concerning their activities across the religion.

“Dominant companies are liable to exceptional obligations,” Andreas Mundt, president of the German rivalry power, said in an announcement on Wednesday. “For advertising financed Internet services, for example, Facebook, user data are hugely important.” Accordingly, Facebook said it was certain that it had conformed to German law. “We anticipate working with the Federal Cartel Office to answer their questions,” the company said in an announcement.
