National Eligibility Test (NET) exam for Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor Notification has released officially in their website by The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) which will be held on 5 November. A candidate who wants to take a step forward in their career in Junior Research Fellowship can apply for this National Eligibility Test (NET). Last date to submit the application online is 30th August 2017 and fee will be accepted till 31st August 2017. Online application will be available from 1st august 2017.
Candidates are requested to fill the application form only through the official website, before filling the form they must go through the eligibility criteria and check whether they are eligible to apply for the examination. The examination will be conducted in the month of November 2017.
Examination Fee details for National Eligibility Test (NET) 2017:
General category – Rs.600/-
OBC – Rs.300/-
SC/ST- Rs.150/-
Service charges and service taxes (as applicable) will be charged additionally by the bank. The fee can be remitted through eChallan by deposit of prescribed fees in CBSE account with Syndicate Bank, ICICI, HDFC Bank and Canara Bank.

The exam is conducted in streams of Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Commerce etc. The official notification states “It is notified that CBSE will conduct the next UGC-NET for Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Assistant Professor on 05th November, 2017 (Sunday). The candidates who desire to appear in the test may see the detailed notification available on the website http://cbsenet.nic.in from 24th July, 2017.”
UGC (University Grants Commission) is a statutory organization established by the union government in 1956. Its main objective is to provide recognition to the Indian universities and provide funds to such recognized universities and colleges.
UGC NET qualifying criteria:
The UGC has recently released an official notice that there is a change in the qualifying criteria of the National Eligibility Test (NET). Previously UGC qualifying criteria for UGC-NET exam is top 15 per cent of those candidates in each subject and category, who obtained the minimum required marks in paper I, paper II and paper III according to the category of the candidates are taken into consideration.
Subsequent to the orders of the High Court of Kerala, UGC has revised the procedure and criteria of qualifying candidates and based on that 6 per cent of the total candidates who appear in the UGC-NET examination will be declared qualified.
