Nagarjuna, Karthi and Thamanna have wrapped up the shooting of their upcoming film titled ‘Oopiri – Celebration of life’. Directed by Vamsi Paidipally who made hits like Brindavanam and Yevadu prior, ‘Oopiri’ is based on the French film ‘The Intouchables.’ The film is simultaneously being shot in Telugu and Tamil languages. The Tamil version of the movie is named as Thozha. Produced by Prasad V Potluri under the banner PVP cinema, it features Akkineni Nagarjuna and Karthi playing the male leads, and Tamannah Bhatia playing the female lead.
Vamsi Paidipally made a lot of changes in the script to make it more relevant to south Indian audience by adding elements that would appeal to them. In the movie, Nagarjuna will be seen playing a quadriplegic patient, while Karthi is seen playing his caretaker. Adivi Sesh and Anushka are cast in cameo roles, while Shriya Saran is playing a special guest role. This film will be the Karthi’s first straight Telugu film.
The crew finished canning the filming portion in Paris, Lyon and Belgrade. Currently, the film is in its post-production stages and the makers are planning to release the audio on February 28. Malayalam music director Gopi Sunder is the music director for both Oopiri and Thozha. The film is scheduled for a worldwide release on 25 March 2016.
