Body shaming is one of the sad realities we all live with. And when you’re a part of movie industry, unfortunately, it comes with the job. There have been many instances where bollywood actresses such as Sonakshi Sinha, Kalki Koechlin and Richa Chadda have voiced their thoughts against body shaming but the harsh reality is that it still persists.
This time, Choreographer turned Bollywood actress Lauren Gottlieb was subjected to body shaming by some of her social media followers. She was criticized by a few haters saying she ‘looked like a man’ and another who ridiculed her for ‘trying to look like an Indian’.
It all started a few days ago when Lauren was trying to have fun some when a post about GQ’s Best Dressed Man 2016 wrongly featured her alongside Arjun Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor and John Abraham on the thumbnail. She herself is pretty confused as to why she’s in the picture and Instagrammed this photo.
Well, unsurprisingly, things took a nasty turn when few haters of Lauren started criticizing and condemning her for ‘her attempt to look like an Indian.’
One hater took things further saying she should be ‘banned’ for trying to look Indian. He said, “India needs to put a ban on these girls who tan themselves to look Indian. What’s wrong with being yourself? This is racist and disgusting. No wonder you’re a flop actress. Never will be as great as Katrina Kaif.”
Lucky for Lauren, her new buddy Ileana D’Cruz came to her aid and shot down the haters. The actress asked haters not to spread negativity if they had nothing nice to say.
And here’s her fitting reply to the hater:
Lauren also appreciated and thanked Ileana for her support as she posted:
For which Ileana replied, saying:
It’s really good to see actresses helping each other out! Keep the love flowing, girls.
