OUAT website hacked by Police Detain Engineering Student
The Commissionerate of Police on Monday traced down a student of a private engineering college for allegedly hacking the official website of Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT).
The student, a self-admitted ethical hacker, was distinguished after police his Internet protocol (IP) address and proceed to zero in the system and Internet user IDs. “He is being cross examined now,” Police Commissioner Dr RP Sharma said.

Prior, police investigated more than 400 IP locations to find the server to limit down the system and web internet ID’s.
“We used resourceful officers who have necessary skills in digital security to discover system which could be utilized to hack the college’s site,” he said.
Police believe that the he intention may not have been steel the data or corrupt files in the servers, Police said another point if an ethical hacker to break into the OUAT network to signal that the university’s firewalls and cyber security systems are weak and need fresh auditing.
“Even if it is a student who is into Ethical hacking, vital legal action will take after,” the Police Commissioner said. A case was enlisted under Sections 65 and 66 (C) of the Information Technology Act with Khandagiri police. The offense attracts imprisonment up to three years. “Since the offense is under seven years, the understudy will be served a notice and not arrested,” sources said.
On January 15 evening, the www.ouat.ac.in was hacked taking after which the college deactivated the server.
