The Presidential election counting is going to begin today, 20th July from 11 am onwards. India is waiting to know who will be the 14th President. The 14th President of Rashtrapati Bhavan will be known today, by 5 PM evening. The ballot counting will be started with Parliament house ballot and the remaining ballot boxes will be opened in alphabetical order.

Presidential election counting will be held in 8 rounds; to do the counting 4 separate tables will be specified for counting process. As per the information from an election counting official, the results of presidential elections will be usually announced by 5 pm. 99% votes have polled for presidential elections. The reports are stating that NDA’s candidates Ram Nath Kovind might win over Meira Kumar, the opposition’s candidate.

9:45 am: NCP leader Praful Patel said in New Delhi on Wednesday that Ram Nath Kovind will definitely win.
“All MPs don’t necessarily vote only according to conscience, they also vote according to party lines, and party lines are divided somewhat on ideology, principles and political positioning,” Patel had said.
9:24 am: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the first to vote on Monday morning. He had achieved the Parliament House 10 minutes before voting began.
9:02 am: Anoop Mishra, Lok Sabha secretary general, had said on Wednesday that in an extensive number of states, including Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand and Puducherry, voting was 100%.
8:42 am: There have also been hypotheses over cross-voting in the Presidential elections. Parties, for example, NCP have freely denied any such bits of gossip connected to them. Party representative Nawab Malik had said on Wednesday that rumours affirming that NCP MPs and MLAs are voting in favour of the NDA presidential candidate Ram Nath Kovind are false, including that they will be voting in favour of Meira Kumar.
8:36 am: Support for Ram Nath Kovind also originated from CPI(M)- ruled Tripura, six MLAs of Trinamool Congress and one Congress MLA as they opposed their parties and voted for NDA’s candidate. TMC had officially sacked the six MLAs from their party.
8:25 am: It is likely that NDA chosen one Ram Nath Kovind could enrol a decided triumph in the Presidential elections today, with more than 7 lakh votes to support him. This is owing to a great extent to a bigger help base and cross-voting from a few segments.
8:10 am: A total of 4,896 voters — 4,120 MLAs and 776 chose MPs — were qualified to cast their tally for the Presidential elections. MLCs of states with the legislative council are not part of the electoral college.
