International Women’s Day, also called International Working Women’s Day, is praised on March 8 every year. The earliest Women’s Day observation was hung on February 28, 1909, in New York; it was sorted out by the Socialist Party of America in recognition of the 1908 strike of the International Ladies’ Garment Workers’ Union. There was no particular strike happening on March 8, despite later claims.
Google Doodle Celebrates International Women’s Day
History apart, International Search Engine Giant Google on Tuesday denoted the International Women’s Day with one of its special doodles featuring real women instead of animated characters.

Let Ben-Rafael, who co-created the doodle, advised Mirror Online it was vital to her to feature real women in the video, as opposed to animated characters, which generally show up in Google doodles.

“International Women’s Day is a festival of the women who arrive today working towards a better future, and in that sense it was essential for me to ensure that we praise the real women,” she said.
“It’s the unsung heroes, this is what we’re praising, so not showing the real women behind this would be a major loss.” Google users can watch the video on by tapping on the play catch on the Google home page in their browsers on March 8.
